    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes for Domaine Courbis's Le Tram 2025

    Tasting

    Colour
This wine reveals a beautiful pale yellow colour, illuminated by delicate green highlights.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet is particularly intense, opening with notes of citrus, peach and exotic fruits, before evolving gracefully towards floral touches.

    Palate
The attack is both lively and complex. The palate offers a beautiful persistence, enriched by buttery nuances. The finish, saline and imbued with freshness, brings a magnificent tension to the whole.

    Food and wine pairing
This great white wine pairs perfectly with delicate fish, seafood or shellfish. It also goes wonderfully with white meats served with a cream and mushroom sauce, as well as pressed cooked cheeses.

The elegance of a great white wine from Saint-Péray by Domaine Courbis

    The estate
Founded around 1625, Domaine Courbis is a historic figure of the northern Rhône Valley. Located in Châteaubourg, this family estate spans approximately 35 hectares of vines planted on steep hillsides. Today, the estate is run by brothers Laurent and Dominique Courbis. They have managed to modernize the facilities while preserving local traditions, elevating the brand among the essential references of the region, renowned for the precision and purity of its wines.

    The vineyard
The grapes intended for this cuvée come from the Saint-Péray appellation, more precisely from the Le Tram lieu-dit. The vines, around fifteen years old, thrive at 350 meters of altitude on east-facing hillsides. They rest on a shallow, arid and well-draining soil, with a strong granitic tendency. The estate favours sustainable viticulture and meticulous manual work.

    Winemaking and aging
To craft Le Tram 2025, the harvest is done by hand in perforated crates to avoid crushing the berries. A rigorous sorting of the bunches is carried out on a vibrating table, followed by direct pressing of the whole harvest. After strict settling, alcoholic fermentation begins at low temperature in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, then finishes in barrels for about half of the volume. The wine then benefits from an aging period of 9 to 10 months on fine lees, which continues until the following spring after the harvest in barrels that have already held two to four wines.

    Grape varieties
This wine is a blend of 65% Marsanne and 35% Roussanne.
