    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Garenne" Domaine Louis Jadot 2024

    Tasting

    Appearance
This white wine reveals a beautiful straw-yellow hue, enhanced by luminous golden reflections.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with a lovely minerality evoking gunflint, harmoniously interwoven with notes of hazelnuts, white-fleshed fruits and delicate white flowers.

    Palate
Displaying great precision, the palate offers a perfect balance between finesse and elegance. Endowed with beautiful amplitude, the mouth seduces with its harmonious texture before stretching into a long, subtly saline finish.

    Food and wine pairings

This "La Garenne" cuvée pairs wonderfully with noble fish and shellfish, such as turbot or skate served with a creamy sauce. It also perfectly accompanies pressed cheeses such as Comté.

    Serving and cellaring

For an optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature between 12 and 14°C, taking care to open the bottle about an hour before serving. This Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Garenne" Dom. Louis Jadot 2024 can be enjoyed from now on and will continue to evolve favourably in the cellar until around 2039.

The elegance and minerality of a great Puligny-Montrachet terroir

    The estate

Officially founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the Louis Jadot House stands as a true institution in Burgundy. Today led by the Gagey family, with Pierre-Henri Gagey as president and Thibault Gagey as general manager, the estate perpetuates a philosophy centred on the pure expression of terroir. The domaine oversees a vast vineyard of around 210 hectares spread across the region's finest appellations. Combining winemaking traditions with sustainable practices, Louis Jadot produces wines recognised worldwide for their quality and authenticity.

    The vineyard

The "La Garenne" climat enjoys a privileged position at altitude within the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, not far from the hamlet of Blagny. Facing south-east, the vines benefit from ideal sun exposure that promotes beautiful ripening of the berries. The terroir is distinguished by medium-density limestone soils scattered with scree, which impart to the wine its distinctive mineral signature. Historically, this lieu-dit takes its name from the former enclosed woods reserved for seigneurial hunting.

    Winemaking and aging

After a manual harvest carried out in small crates to preserve the fruit, the berries of this Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Garenne" Dom. Louis Jadot 2024 undergo a gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place directly in oak barrels, one third of which are new. The wine then benefits from meticulous aging of approximately 15 months on fine lees, allowing for a harmonious integration of the oak aromas and the development of its complexity.

    Grape variety
