A pronounced thread of green herbs brings a savory dimension to this oily-textured version, with real weight and lushness to its yellow plum and star fruit. Shows a flattering brush of toast and salted butter, while shades of chamomile and dried grass grace the focused, well-balanced finish. Drink now through 2028. 100 cases imported.

Even better, the 2024 Crozes-Hermitage Les Meysonniers Blanc offers textbook aromatics of quince, orange blossom, honeyed white flowers, spice, and hints of blanched almonds. It's medium-bodied, fresh, focused, and vibrant on the palate, with solid acidity and a clean, lengthy, classy finish. Aged eight months with 30% in 3- to 4-year-old oak and 70% in stainless steel, it will drink well for 4-6 years. Drink 2026-2032.

    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Crozes-Hermitage "Les Meysonniers" 2024 from M. Chapoutier

    Tasting notes

    Colour
With beautiful brilliance, this white wine displays a pale yellow hue, elevated by delicate green tints.

    Nose
The bouquet opens with fruity aromas of quince, harmoniously complemented by floral notes of peony. With aeration, subtle hints of toasted almond come through to enrich the whole.

    Palate
The attack is smooth and imbued with freshness. The palate is seductive with its silky texture and beautiful saline tension, supported by a mineral backbone. The finish is long, complex and remarkably precise.

    Food and wine pairing
This wine from the Rhône Valley pairs wonderfully with parmesan risotto, marinated clams, or grilled meaty fish or fish in a creamy sauce.

    Service and storage
For an optimal tasting of the "Les Meysonniers" 2024 vintage, it is recommended to place it in the refrigerator for a few hours beforehand, then serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12°C, ideally after aerating or decanting it for about two hours.

    Other characteristics

The pure, mineral expression of a Crozes-Hermitage white wine

    The estate
Founded in 1808, the M. Chapoutier house is a landmark institution. The family's winemaking history took a major turn in 1879 with the acquisition of vineyards in Tain-l'Hermitage. Today, under the visionary leadership of Michel Chapoutier, the estate spans 389 hectares. A true pioneer, he converted the entire vineyard to biodynamic farming as early as 1991. The estate is also distinguished by its commitment to inclusivity, having featured braille on all its labels since 1996, affirming strong values of accessibility.

    The vineyard
Located in the southern and eastern part of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, around Tain-l'Hermitage, this terroir rests on alluvial terraces shaped by the river and the Isère. The soils consist of thick deposits of rolled pebbles, gravel, and red clay rich in iron oxide. This well-draining terroir, farmed biodynamically, yields grapes of remarkable freshness.

    The vintage
The year 2024 was marked by hot, dry conditions. However, the region's channeled winds brought natural cooling. Cooler nights helped preserve the berries' natural acidity and aromatic freshness, resulting in perfectly balanced ripeness.

    Winemaking and aging
The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness. Whole-bunch pressing is used to preserve the delicacy of the aromas, followed by light settling. Fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts, with 70% in stainless steel tanks and 30% in half-barrels (5% of which is new oak). Finally, the wine undergoes aging on the lees for approximately eight months.
