    Description

An exceptional Champagne from the Montagne de Reims revealing all the nobility of Chardonnay

    The estate

Founded in 1960 by Georges Huré, Huré Frères Champagne took on its current name in 1971 when Georges handed over management to his three sons. Located in the Montagne de Reims, the estate cultivates 14 hectares spread across Ludes, Rilly-la-Montagne, and Villers-Marmery. Today, François and Pierre Huré, the current owners, have been in charge of winemaking and viticulture respectively since 2008 and 2012. The estate stands out for its terroir-driven approach, showcasing each plot in this mosaic of soils, and for its uncertified organic practices that combine Champagne tradition with modern techniques.

    The vineyard

The 4 éléments Chardonnay Extra Brut 2018 comes exclusively from the "Les Blanches Voies" lieu-dit in Rilly-la-Montagne, located on the northern slope of the Montagne de Reims. This exceptional Champagne terroir benefits from southern exposure on very chalky soils, which give the cuvée its characteristic minerality and the noble bitterness that is so highly prized.

    Winemaking and aging

Aging is carried out entirely in large oak barrels (600L and 350L) for 18 months, a particularly long period that allows the wine to develop its complexity. The aging on lees is then extended for 4 years, imparting richness and depth to the Champagne. Bottling is done under cork from the outset, with no crown cap stage.

    Grape variety

This "4 éléments Extra Brut 2018" cuvée from Huré Frères is made from 100% Chardonnay.
