Description
A Champagne from the Montagne de Reims Marked by Finesse and Balance
The Estate
Founded in 1960 by Georges Huré and passed on to his sons in 1971, the Champagne Huré Frères estate covers 11 hectares in Ludes, on the Montagne de Reims terroir. Currently transitioning to organic certification expected in 2025, the estate stands out for its terroir-driven approach, with cuvées reflecting the geological characteristics of each plot, combining Champagne traditions and modern techniques with a focus on sustainable development.
The Vineyard
The grapes for the Invitation Extra Brut come from three distinct terroirs in the Montagne de Reims: Ludes with clay and sand soils, Rilly La Montagne on chalk, and Villedommange on sandy soils. This geological diversity on the northern side of the Montagne de Reims, characterized by its chalky soils, brings complexity and minerality to the blend.
Vinification and Aging
While the base year is 2020, the blend includes 35% reserve wines that enhance the aromatic complexity and depth of flavor of the champagne. Aging for 3 years on lees, which develops finesse and complexity, is carried out 90% in stainless steel tanks and 10% in barrels.
Blend
The Invitation Extra Brut cuvée from Huré Frères is the result of a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay.
