    Decanter

Fragrant roses and wildflowers on the nose, black cherry and black berries. Crunchy and crisp, this is bright and upfront with a softly cushioned expression - the slightly fleshy tannins give some bounce while the mouthwatering, tart cranberry acidity keeps it focused and persistent. I like this friendly, generous style. Keeps a refreshing aspect all the way. Not trying too hard. Ageing 12 months, 40% new oak. 35% grand vin production.

Black cherries, blackberries, flowers, licorice, plums, and mint leaf complete the aromatic profile. The medium-bodied palate is even better due to its vivid display of sweet, lively, cherries, and plums coupled its purity, elegance, refinement and supple-textured finish that give this wine its unique character. The wine blends 73.2% Merlot, with 26.8% Cabernet Franc. 14% ABV. The harvest took place September 10 - September 22. Yields were 29 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2028-2050. 94-96 Pts

    Yves Beck

Precise and expressive, the bouquet of Quintus reveals notes of fully ripe dark berries and hints of grenadine, enhanced by a touch of licorice and vanilla. The smooth character on the attack suggests an inviting wine. It shows a certain breadth and can rely on the support of compact, velvety tannins. A flavorful wine that can be enjoyed both young and with some age.

    Jean-Marc Quarin

Deep, intense, purple-red color. Very aromatic nose, refined, subtle, and complex, with hints of blackberry and vanilla. Extremely precise on the attack, very, very flavorful on the mid-palate, with a fine richness coating the palate; the wine develops into a juicy, intensely fragrant profile, leading to a long finish that preserves all its qualities. This last third of the palate is regal. Incredible! Blend: 73.2% Merlot, 26.8% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 14% – pH: 3.46 – IPT: 76.8. Yield: 29.5 hl/ha. The estate carried out no leaf removal and no green harvest to reinforce drought resistance. Harvest from September 8 to 22 for the Merlot, and the end of the Cabernet Franc on September 24.

Characteristics and tasting advice for Château Quintus 2025

    Tasting

    Appearance

Beautifully deep, the purple color is particularly radiant.

    Nose

Especially charming, the bouquet reveals intense aromas of blackcurrant intertwined with subtle spicy notes.

    Palate

The attack is generous and full of elegance. The palate, broad and tactile, offers a lovely fruit density supported by great freshness. The characteristic mineral framework of the great Saint-Émilion terroirs comes through. The finish, delicious and slightly saline, perfectly rounds out this accomplished wine where the blend enhances the terroir.

A sunny and fresh Saint-Émilion wine by Château Quintus

    The estate

Château Quintus was born from the union of the terroirs of Château Tertre Daugay and Château L’Arrosée, acquired by the family company Domaine Clarence Dillon in 2011 and 2013 respectively. This Right Bank estate in Bordeaux is thus the fifth property of the Domaine Clarence Dillon group, alongside Châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. The estate takes its name from the Gallo-Roman tradition of naming one’s fifth child Quintus.

    The vineyard

Château Quintus is a Saint-Émilion wine produced from a 42-hectare vineyard, distinctive for its mosaic of terroirs. Averaging 30 years of age, the vines are planted on the plateau across successive south-facing limestone layers, as well as on clay-limestone and gravel soils exposed from south to north in the northern part of the estate.

    The vintage

The year was marked by particularly sunny conditions and a season dominated by heat. This weather favored the formation of small berries, ensuring excellent concentration. Harvest took place from September 8 to 22, 2025, resulting in a highly successful balance between sunshine and terroir.

    Winemaking and ageing

This wine is aged using 40% new oak barrels. Alcohol: 14% vol.

    Grape varieties

The blend of Château Quintus 2025 is composed of 73.2% Merlot and 26.8% Cabernet Franc.
