    Decanter

Cool and creamy blue fruit on the nose. Lively and bright with a fun aspect. Not too heavy or too lean, this has an easy charm with soft, smooth tannins and clean red berry fruit. Accents of wet stone, liquorice, cola and mint give freshness and nuance on the finish. It’s still quite focused on the acidity and missing a touch of flesh to really balance out the bitter orange and slate minerality, but it has purity and lots of delineation. 40% production. 3.44 pH. Ageing: 33% new oak.

Tobacco wrapper, flowers, cedar, and mint combine with bright, fresh, red berries to produce a vibrant, medium-bodied, elegant, fruity wine that is going to be delicious on release. You can enjoy this with pleasure in its youth, for all its fruits, and freshness. The wine blends 78.5% Merlot, and 21.5% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2034. 90-92 Pts

    Le Figaro Vin

Score: 89–91. A nose that is initially dark and mysterious, then a sappy, floral freshness emerges from pink and red fruits. On the palate, the texture is fluid, caressing, and voluptuous, evoking fine silks gliding over the skin.

    Yves Beck

Floral nuances with a touch of violet complemented by red-berry notes. Supported by a slightly saline structure, the wine is fresh, harmonious, and endowed with fine-grained tannins. It will gain a bit of weight during its ageing. A wine to enjoy in its youth

The Fruitiness and Persistence of a Second Wine from Saint-Émilion

    The Estate

Château Quintus, perched on a promontory in Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, was acquired by Domaine Clarence Dillon in 2011. Formerly known as Château Tertre Daugay, the estate covers 16 hectares of varied terroirs, expanded with the acquisition of Château L'Arrosée in 2013. Château Quintus is the fifth acquisition of the Domaine Clarence Dillon group, joining the prestigious Châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. Its name is inspired by the Gallo-Roman tradition of naming the fifth child Quintus.

    The Vineyard

The vineyard of Château Quintus benefits from an exceptional location on a limestone promontory in Saint-Émilion. This privileged position offers optimal exposure and perfect natural drainage conditions for the vines.

    The Wine

Dragon de Quintus is the Second Wine of Château Quintus.

    The Vintage

The year 2024 was marked by a wet winter and spring, resulting in high pressure from downy mildew, perfectly controlled thanks to rigorous vineyard management. The grass cover, parcel restructuring and precise cultural practices helped maintain the vines’ sanitary condition. Homogeneous flowering and green harvesting led to balanced grape ripeness. A sunny week in mid-September refined concentration and aromas.

    Winemaking and Aging

Aging takes place in French oak barrels, 33% of which are new.

    Blend

78.5% Merlot and 21.5% Cabernet Franc.
