A Speyside single malt whisky of remarkable opulence with French influences
Glenfiddich, the excellence of Speyside Scotch whisky
Founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, Glenfiddich remains an independent family distillery after five generations under the ownership of W. Grant & Sons. This Speyside Scotch whisky revolutionized the market in 1963 by popularizing single malt as a premium category. The distillery stands out for its unique integrated infrastructure, including in-house coppersmiths and an on-site cooperage, ensuring total control over production. Glenfiddich today holds the title of the world’s best-selling single malt, distributed in more than 180 countries, thanks to its iconic triangular bottle and distinctive fruity character.
The 26 Year Old Grande Couronne, an exceptional Franco-Scottish alliance
Glenfiddich 26 Year Old Grande Couronne pays tribute to the historic alliance between Scotland and France, combining the tradition of Scotch whisky with the influence of French Cognac. This single malt follows a unique maturation process: 24 years in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks in a 70%/30% proportion, then an additional 2 years of finishing in rare 400-liter Cognac casks.
These Cognac casks, which previously held high-quality eaux-de-vie from the Cognac region, were meticulously selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. This expression is the first Glenfiddich whisky to benefit from maturation in Cognac casks. The name “Grande Couronne” symbolically evokes a royal distinction, promising excellence in every drop of this exceptional spirit that perfectly embodies the alliance between Scottish know-how and French traditions.
