Veuve Fourny & Fils : Rosé Brut Premier Cru

The NV Brut Rose Premier Cru is intriguing in the way it floats on the palate in an ethereal expression of freshly cut flowers and berries. This is an understated, cooly elegant wine with great balance and class. Clean, chalky notes mark the finish. The Brut Rose Premier Cru is 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot. (80% chardonnay and 20% pinot noir; L49071): Bright orange-pink. Lively red berry and cherry aromas are complemented by notes of orange pith, pungent flowers and chalk. Sappy, penetrating citrus fruit and raspberry flavors pick up notes of anise and buttered toast with air and show very good clarity. Finishes spicy and long, with a lingering floral note. I'd serve this fine-grained Champagne with delicately seasoned Asian dishes or by itself.

The NV Rose Premier Cru Brut is made from 85% Chardonnay blended with 15% still Pinot Noir. It has 6 g/L dosage and the lot no. is 19311. It is a bright strawberry pink in color. Notes of fresh redcurrants, McIntosh apples, and pomegranate spring from the glass, followed by hints of lavender, jasmine tea, and beeswax. The palate is refreshingly fruity, bursting with uncomplicated red berry flavors, supported by frothy bubbles, and finishing fragrant.

A delightful rosé with notes of cherry and cherry pit; it’s flattering and immediately appealing.
