    Description

The delicacy and refinement of a Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion

    The estate

As a Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion, Château-Figeac embodies the excellence of great Bordeaux wines worldwide. Château-Figeac has been owned by the Manoncourt family for over 120 years.

    The vineyard

An illustrious reference among the great Saint-Émilion wines, Château-Figeac benefits from an exceptional location to the west of the appellation, on the edge of the Pomerol appellation. The estate’s vineyard covers 40 hectares of vines planted on three distinct gravel croups. Respect for biodiversity, flora and fauna is at the heart of the estate’s priorities.

    The wine

2021 is the first vintage vinified in the estate’s new cellar.

    The vintage

A mild, rainy winter favoured an early budbreak. Frost episodes in early spring were followed by heavy rainfall in May and June, slowing vegetative development. More favourable weather was recorded from early July onwards. In late summer, as well as in September and October, sunny and particularly dry conditions proved ideal for refining ripeness.

    Winemaking and aging

    Exclusively aged in new barrels.

    Blend

Château-Figeac 2021 is made from a blend of cabernet sauvignon (40%), cabernet franc (31%) and merlot (29%).
