    Description

The complexity and finesse of an Haut-Médoc red wine

    The estate

Located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, at the gateway to Pauillac, Château Peyrabon is nestled in a setting of pure nature. Owned by the Patrick Bernard family since 1998, Château Peyrabon has undergone major restructuring and modernisation, both in the vineyard and the cellar. Classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, Château Peyrabon is a very fine reference in the Haut-Médoc. It offers wines that are representative of the appellation, elegant and powerful, with superb potential for ageing.

Since September 2022, Château Peyrabon and Château Fleur Peyrabon have been acquired by the BCAP group (Castéja family), which also owns Château Batailley and Château Lynch-Moussas.

    The vineyard

Château Peyrabon 2022 is an Haut-Médoc wine from a vineyard of about 37 hectares. The vines are 29 years old on average and are planted on sandy gravel on a clay subsoil. Clay-limestone soils are found on 5 hectares of the vineyard. The vineyard is certified ISO14001-2015 and HVE (High Environmental Value) with sustainable phytosanitary protection.

    Winemaking and ageing

The grapes are transferred by vibrating container and are de-stemmed and optically sorted before crushing and vatting. The vinification is carried out in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats. Average maceration of 21 days. The presses are separated and selected after tasting. Part of the wine is placed in barrels when it is run off. The wine is aged for 14 months in barrels (30% new wood) and then fined in vats.

    Blend

Château Peyrabon 2022 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (34%), Cabernet Franc (8%) and Petit Verdot (3%).
