    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the 2025 "Cuvée Camille" by M. Lapierre

    Tasting notes

    Colour
The wine shows a brilliant garnet-red hue, both vivid and intense, with beautiful clarity.

    Nose
The bouquet opens with mouthwatering notes of fresh red berries such as cherry and raspberry. It then gains delicate floral touches reminiscent of violet, mingled with sweet spices, black pepper and subtle nuances of fresh leather and garrigue.

    Palate
From the first impression, this red wine is supple and reveals particularly juicy fruit. The fleshy, energetic body is supported by a refined, ripe tannic structure. The whole displays lovely tension that stretches into a long, fresh and floral finish.

    Food and wine pairing

This cuvée pairs wonderfully with country terrines, noble offal such as kidneys, or fine roast poultry. It will also elevate grilled red meats and flavourful bistro cuisine, as well as vegetarian dishes such as mushroom risotto or grilled vegetables. As for cheeses, a tomme de Savoie or a Saint-Nectaire will make an ideal companion.

    Serving and cellaring

The 2025 "Cuvée Camille" already shows great potential, but it can be cellared and will evolve favourably, to be enjoyed until around 2035.

The Fleshy, Elegant Expression of a Morgon Wine

    The estate

Founded in 1909 by Michel, M. Lapierre now extends over 18 hectares in the heart of Beaujolais, France. A pioneer at heart, the estate left its mark on the region's history under Marcel's leadership in the 1980s, becoming an essential reference for natural wines, grown without chemicals and vinified with minimal intervention. Today, it is run by his children, Mathieu and Camille Lapierre. They masterfully perpetuate this demanding philosophy, producing authentic, pure and highly qualitative cuvées that shine around the world.

    The vineyard

This wine comes from a small, confidential parcel of around one hectare on the renowned Côte du Py, within the Morgon appellation. Facing south-west, the very old vines, around sixty years of age, thrive on shallow, poor soils made up of acidic granitic sands and decomposed blue rock. The vineyard has been farmed organically since 1981, encouraging deep rooting and naturally moderate yields, essential to express the full complexity of the terroir.

    Vinification and ageing

The grapes are harvested by hand with rigorous sorting. The 2025 "Cuvée Camille" is produced using whole-bunch semi-carbonic maceration in wooden truncated vats, lasting between ten and twenty-four days. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for nine months in old 216-litre oak barrels. It is bottled without fining or filtration, to ensure the wine's stability.
