Medium purple, fine watery rim. Cold, distinctive bouquet, wet wool blanket. On the palate, furry and roughening, no clear direction, extremely firm and core-driven.

    René Gabriel

Medium purple, fine watery rim. Cold, unconventional bouquet, wet wool blanket. On the palate, fuzzy, abrasive, completely lacking clear focus, extremely robust.

Bordeaux-red color. Medium intensity. Evolved. Ethyl-4-phenol on the nose. Simple. This wine has a distinctive taste, slightly iodine-like. Ethyl-4-guaiacol. The body is medium, the tannins are soft, but the fruit is not very flavorful.

    Description

    1998 Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois

Chateau Peyrabon is a classified Grand Cru Bourgeois from the Haut-Medoc appellation. The 1998 Chateau Peyrabon is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.

The bold red hued wine reveals a surprising array of aromas of complex spices, candied fruits, and tar; all perfectly tied together. The palate offers commanding strength and opulence that lead to long and tasty tannins.
